What Is A Wrap-Around Event?
A Wrap-Around event is any fundraiser that your team organizers to raise funds for the Walkâ . Wrap-Arounds provide additional and fun ways to increase awareness and fundraising. All expenses for wrap-arounds are incurred by the sponsor team.
Here are just a few examples of successful Wrap-Arounds:
Raffles:
Will your company allow you to hold a pay-day 50/50? On pay-day, sell tickets for $1, $5 or $10. Winner receives 50% of the pot and your team receives the other 50%; or secure a few donated items and raffle them off instead.
Potluck Lunch:
Solicit volunteers to cook up their favorite dishes. Sell tickets for lunch to your co-workers.
Sales:
Encourage your friends and co-workers to hold a bake sale, car wash, used book sale, rummage sale or other “special sale” and donate the proceeds to your team. There are so many fun ways to engage your team members and neighbors in raising funds for your team and the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center and the National Down Syndrome Society.
Dress Down for Down’s Day:
With the endorsement of your company’s management, hold a “Dress Down for Down’s Day”. Allow individuals the opportunity to wear jeans for a donation to your team and the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center and the National Down Syndrome Society.
Is your company already business casual? Then “Dress Up for Down’s Day”!
Be Creative and Make your own Wrap-Around Today!
The sky is the limit. One team held a fundraiser at their local Rita’s. Sell BW Sneakers, Bar Nights and Karaoke Challenges are a great idea as well.

All Wrap-Arounds are the sole responsibility of the team conducting the activity. All publicity relating to the Wrap-Around event should clearly state: “The net proceeds of this event will benefit the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center and the National Down Syndrome Society through our participation in the Annual Lehigh Valley Buddy Walkâ .” Any raffle permits, gaming licenses, insurance coverage, etc. are the responsibility of the team conducting the Wrap-Around event. Any Wrap-Around event should be one that the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center and the National Down Syndrome Society names and perceived affiliations is within the boundaries of good tast, while also being devoid of political or religious overtones. When in doubt, call the EPDSC office for guidance.
